No. New Jersey’s 50-hour requirement includes supervised practice with a qualified parent, guardian, or other supervising driver, with at least 10 hours after dark. You can purchase additional lessons if you would like professional help between your students permit lessons and DMV road test, but the 50-hour requirement does not require a NJMVC licensed driving instructor, just a parent’s supervision.
